Beliefs & culture
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the infallible, authoritative Word of God (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17).
Trinity
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6). Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.
Salvation
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-10).
Eternity
People were created to exist forever. They will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
(1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15).
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10).
JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory (Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15)
RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the consummation of the Kingdom of God, and the renewal of all things (Matthew 19:28; 24:42-44; Acts 1:11; 3:19-21; Colossians 1:19-20; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 11:15; Revelation 21:1-5).
UNITY
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23).
MARRIAGE
We believe Christian marriage is a representation of Christ’s relationship to His Church. Throughout Scripture we discover marriage that is honored by God has been always been between one man and one woman (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:24; Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:21-33; Malachi 2:15).
Our Culture
COMMUNITY
To be a Christian is to be in a family of loving, reconciled believers. We value unity, celebrate diversity, and generously share our lives.
PURPOSE
We want to be a church that releases people in to their God-given calling and gifting; we value empowering people to do God’s work.
MISSION
We understand that we don’t just live in a city; we are sent to our city. We exist for each other and for those who are not yet here. We are called to serve, and people are our priority.
GRACE
We don’t pretend to have it all together; we humbly offer to others the saving grace that God offers to us. We meet people where they are and invite them to belong on their journey to believe.
PRESENCE
God’s people are marked by his Spirit…in corporate gatherings and in everyday life. We passionately pursue God’s presence in worship and carry it with us wherever we go.
LIFE
We want to cultivate an atmosphere of abundant life…to create a place where people encounter the good news of Jesus and are healed, inspired, encouraged, and set free.
